Inject some ka-pow into your wardrobe with comic-book motifs and cartoon prints
Having previously dismissed cartoon prints as a one-way train to hipster town, (I’m thinking Minnie Mouse accessories and Dangermouse tees), there is a whole new crop of cartoon-inspired designs that are radically changing my mind.
Ever since Jeremy Scott created that awesome repeat-Bart-head print – as seen on Cara Delevingne and Azealia Banks – the street cred of cartoon prints has increased dramatically. Tom Ford‘s Fall 13 campaign features long dresses with high-gloss Roy-Lichtenstein-style ‘Ka-Pow’ motifs. These dresses are featured in Vogue‘s September Issue Google Glass editorial – proving definitively that comic-tinged glamour is no longer just for fangirls and fanboys.
